Update: Prayers for CEMO!

Hello everyone!  Thank you all so much for your prayers.  We’re extremely grateful for every word spoken to God on CEMO’s behalf.  Here is an update I posted on my personal facebook page yesterday.  I love you all.

________________________________________________________________________

Update: Good morning! “Today is the day that the Lord has made. Let us REJOICE and be glad in it.”(Psalm 118:24) Cecil is doing great! God is showing off you guys! According to his surgeon, the last MRI showed that all active cancer cells were removed. The fibers that are left are intertwined with the brain tissue, so he will still have treatment after we leave here.

He has been downgraded from ICU to PCU. Not sure how much longer he’ll be here but we’re taking it one day at a time. He’s had physical therapy the last two days and was able to take a few steps both days and sit up on his own on the side of the bed. Still no movement in his left arm yet, but I believe it will be restored.

Once he goes home, I’ll be his primary caretaker until he’s fully recovered, so I’m learning by watching the nurses work with him. We’re looking into rehabilitation. Continued prayers are appreciated.

For those of you who have been asking, I’m doing just fine. I’m taking care of myself so that I can be at my best for Cecil. I’m sleeping at home each night; eating breakfast, lunch and dinner; taking a break from the hospital room and going outside for fresh air; smiling at everyone I see; praying and praising throughout the day. The peace of God is all over me. Many have said that God will not put more on me than I can handle. Actually, he will allow more than I can handle, in my own strength. However, with Him I can do all things. Hallelujah!!! His strength is my strength! His peace is my peace! His joy is my joy! Even now, God is lifting me up as He heals my husband. My job in this trial is to honor Him with my attitude.

God says He will not allow me to be “tempted” beyond what I can bear. But when I am tempted, He will also provide a way out so that I can STAND UP under it (1 Cor. 10:13). The mind can sometimes be our worst enemy when faced with trials. Negative thoughts, that are not from God, will quickly bombard our minds if we allow them in. That’s temptation. Our cousin, Archie, gave me a great tip. He said when my mind starts to go there, stop and focus on my breathing. This puts me in touch with my spirit and it’s amazing. It works. All I can do is praise God. Praising Him through the good and the bad. It all has purpose.

Update: Prayers for CEMO!

Thanks for stopping by!

Remember:  When you live in your DESIGN, it is from there that God SHINES!

Oh Anita, what an awesome praise report! God really does know how to show out. I’ve been praying for your husband and the entire family as well as to keep you strong through this time of testing. He does know how much you can bear, and He knows that you are faithful. Your strong faith has made him so proud of you. We shall sing praises to Him because He is worthy of our praises! Psalm 30:1-5 “I will extol You, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my foe rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Hallelujah!!!

  15. Aniema

God will perfect the healing your husband,he will live to a good old age like sheaves of corn he will not harvested untill the proper time. Amen!

  16. Cynthia Willis

So many times in the past couple of weeks, I have seen the statement “we never know what another person may be dealing with” and when I looked at your blog tonight, I said a special prayer for you and Cecil. For you to be strong, and be guided to help your husband each day, and that you allow others close to you to give you aid and comfort. I pray that our Father will guide those ministering to Cecil may do so with wisdom from above, that he responds favorably to his treatments, and for complete healing. Please give us updates when you are able as we will continue to petition the Father on your behalf.

Thank you for updating us! Glad to hear things are moving along. Also glad to hear you are taking care of yourself. I lost my Mom recently, and for the previous 2 years we were caring for her in our home, with me being the primary caretaker. You *need* to care for yourself, Anita. I’m not kidding! Even sitting at the hospital all day is draining! Do something special for yourself every day! It is not selfish. Continues prayers for both of you!

    1. Anita Morris

What great advice! Do something special for myself everyday. Okay, I will start doing that. I was just thinking the other day that I want a pedicure but didn’t want to do it while he was at the hospital. I’m gonna go get that pedicure Julie. Thank you so much for your wisdom.

  104. Cici

    Anita-
Thank you for this uplifting update on Cemo. You are supporting those you are in contact with by your faith.
I hope that you are getting good & through options from your hospital case manager & social worker. They are the people that should be there to help you (I am one of the case managers but on the east coast). There are services after hospitalization to help Cemo maximize his rehab potential.
Cemo, you and your boys are in my prayers & in my congregations prayers. You are a joy to know (even if only thru a blog!) God bless all of you.

    1. Anita Morris

Okay, I’ll make sure I get all the information for rehab and other resources before leaving hospital. Thank you so much.

  105. Maggie Fieger

Prayers for you both! I hope improvement continues

  106. Kathie Reeves

You are such an inspiration. I will continue to pray for you and your husband. As a full time caretaker for my husband I would like to presume a little bit to suggest you talk with the doctors before your husband is discharged to see if you can get home health care going. We were able to get physical therapy, occupational therapy and an aide to assist with bathing if you need that. They also have nursing availabke to do periodic checks at home. I don’t know if you’ve ever done this but the additional help is a Godsend. Please continue taking care of yourself.

    1. Anita Morris

I am definitely taking your advice for help in the home. I will not try to be a lone ranger in this. I NEED help! Thank you Kathie for sharing.
