Welcome back to the Blog! It’s been an entire month since I’ve posted content here, but for good reason. Whew! I’ve been working, working, working. If you’re part of my Private Email Community, or follow me on Facebook or Instagram, then you already know what I’ve been creating behind the scenes. Today, I’m sharing the BEST PATTERN WEIGHTS & BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (for those who haven’t heard.
I started using pattern weights around 2017. I’ve been using these metal washers that I purchased from my local Home Improvement Store. Since they work so well, there was no need for me to invest in more weights. I watched others in the sewing community purchase or create their own pattern weights but I stayed loyal to my metal washers.
Then one day, as I was scrolling through Instagram, I came to a complete STOP. Has that ever happened to you? Bianca, the creator of Thanks I Made Them, posted a photo of these Scripture Weights from her Etsy Store, and I gasped. Honey, I couldn’t get to my wallet quick enough. Did I need pattern weights all of a sudden? HECK no! But these weights had my name written all over them.
I ordered every Scripture weight she had available. They’re absolutely beautiful, and the idea of using something in my sewing space that has the Word of God printed on it just gives me the giggles. The first time I used the weights, I kept smiling and actually speaking the Scriptures as I anchored the pattern to my fabric.
When I received the weights in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful act of kindness from Bianca. She custom designed four weights for me that have sentimental meaning. She made one with a photo of my husband. There is another of my family at the Fire Station. She even made one with my motto that I share at the end of every Blog Post. Finally, she included one that highlights the message I spoke at a Women’s Retreat last year. My heart was mush and my eyes kept leaking.
When you go to her Etsy Store, you will see all the pre-designed pattern weights she has available. You can also have your weights customized. If you live outside the United States, she does offer shipping overseas. Bianca pays special attention to packaging. Her weights are wrapped inside pattern tissue paper and packaged perfectly inside jewelry boxes with a layer of batting. I love it when business owners go out of their way to add special touches to packaging.
Because I love my weights so much, I reached out to Bianca to let her know I wanted to purchase a set of weights for a GIVEAWAY to my Private Email Community. She generously donated a set of eight pre-designed weights for the GIVEAWAY. Today, I announced the winner in a PRODUCT REVIEW VIDEO on my YouTube channel. Now, for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! I wrote a book! Aaahhh! I still can’t believe it, but it’s true. The book is an assignment from God that has resulted from the devastating trial our family has experienced over the last few years. The book is called, STEP Into It, Overcoming Trials That Lead to Purpose. In the book, I talk about how the trials of life come to awaken us to purpose, not to destroy us.
I’m sharing my story and how I used 4 Pillars that helped me to persevere through the storm, and how they can help you too.
The 4 Pillars are: STAND, TRUST, ENDURE, PROCEED
Anyone can overcome a personal trial. But something deeper happens in the process of stepping into purpose in the midst of the trial. I challenge the reader to tap into these 4 Pillars and experience the transformation that takes place both during and after the storm.
Implementing the Pillars into your life will also prepare you in advance, so that you will be ready to STEP when faced with your own personal trial.
On Friday, October 2nd at 6:41 pm Pacific time, I sent my manuscript to the Editor . After I pressed the “SEND” button, I went screaming through the house. I felt exposed and naked because I share a couple of dark, painful stories from my childhood and marriage.
Because the book has done its work in helping me as I continue to heal, my heart believes that it will help someone else too. God wouldn’t call me to do anything without purpose.

I’ve done some work on my website. I created a new HOME PAGE because I wanted to add my book and speaking offers. Now, when you come to the site without a link, you will see the home page first, instead of the Blog. As I continue to update my site, you will see more changes. Don’t worry, I’m NOT leaving my sewing community. I still have MUCH to share with you.
I’m trying to get ready for whatever God has in store. With intention, I’m listening and paying attention to the promptings of my heart. Also, I’m watching carefully and staying attentive to what God is doing in and around me. It all has purpose. And I’m gonna STEP Into It!

You no doubt have heard or read the book by Rick Warren “The Purpose Driven Life” as Christians we do have a purpose and our Lord is truly calling you.
