Hello everyone! The weather in my area can be a bit unpredictable at times. One day we have beautiful, sunny skies, then the next day brings gray clouds and stormy rain. It reminds me of the ups and downs of life. We walk through our daily lives, carrying out the plans we’ve made for our journeys, and without notice, there are times when we are faced with situations that take us by surprise, things that we didn’t foresee as part of the journey. So, what are we to do when the unpredictable interrupts our plans and takes its place on the road to our destinations? I’ll tell you what I’m learning to do. I’m learning to take on a different perspective. I’m learning that the unpredictable isn’t always an interruption. Rather, sometimes it’s an opportunity for growth. As the rain feeds our crops and replenishes our water reservoirs, the unpredictable events in our lives can build strength and character that prepares us to feed into the lives of others. So the next time you’re faced with what looks like an interruption in your life plan, take a deeper look and ask yourself how it can equip you for the next step on your journey.
Avocado Wool Blend Coat – McCall’s 7256
You may be thinking, “another coat?” Yes, another coat. You see, I’ve taken inventory of what’s in my closet, and I realize that my coats are a bit boring. Before I began sewing again, I had one beige and two black coats. I’ve now added one RED, one PINK, and now this gorgeous avocado coat to my collection. The color is what attracted me to this wool blend. It’s the same fabric I used for the red and pink coats, so I thought it would look nice sewn up in this style. I’d like to add more coats to my wardrobe but at some point I must move into spring sewing. Don’t be surprised, however, if you see one more coat and a cape before Spring. I already have the fabric and I’m dying to use it.

LOVELY coat and color on you! I want to make this coat but no back flounce. I have a built in flounce…don’t need more!! The flounce looks fab on you. Very classy, chic and oh so stylish!
Hi Dii! Okay, you had me cracking up at the “built-in flounce” comment. Thank you and have fun sewing yours.

You are wearing this coat!! So glad to have found your blog – your style is similar to what I like and create. This coat (and the pink one) have been on my list but I didn’t get to them this winter. I will on the next – thanks so much for the info on the wool. Finding the perfect fabric has been my problem! Love everything about this and look forward to see what is coming next!

Ms. Anita,
I live by your perspective. I choose to believe the “interruptions” in life is God’s way of shielding and protecting me from satan’s demise!
