It’s a Fabulous Friday, so I thought I would come to share my latest YouTube Video with you. I recently went to JoAnn Fabrics to purchase a button and left the store with two large bags full of fabric. In today’s YouTube video I’m sharing all the fabrics I purchased, plus information on how my recent color analysis helped me decide which fabrics work and those that don’t. Click the photo below to check out the video.
Thanks for stopping by!

Nice shopping haul Anita! It appears JoAnn is trying to step up their game in the fabric arena! Typically I can only find one or two pieces every couple of months, LOL! But this haul is quite impressive! BTW…I also purchased the scuba knit (white background with shades of pink florals). I made an Odgen cami (poor choice!!!) and a pencil skirt. I LOVE the pencil skirt but don’t like they way the cami hangs. I think the fabric was to heavy for the pattern! Anyway, you made out with your selections and can’t wait to see what you do with them! Again, welcome back!
Great video on the fabrics!
What I learned recently in a clothing and accessories course I took was that there are things you can use as a color shield if you are wearing a color that does not complement but you love, or don’t want to get rid of. You can warm up or cool down something by wearing a scarf in complementary colors between the blouse/top and your face, or you can use warm/cool or mixed metal jewelry….I’m a warm as well and have found this to work beautifully, and while I usually stick to my colors, I’m happy not to be limited if there’s something non-complementary that I love. Yellow gold is almost always warm, silver and white gold almost always cool, pewter can be warm, pearls are warm, and of course the combinations of those are endless and fun to play with. Keeping you and your boys in my prayers, nice to see you back at your sewing machine….I think I had almost as much fun watching this haul video as you did finding it all lol. Take care 🙂
Hi,
Absolutely enjoyed the video! I loved the information on color consultion. You made a killing at JoAnns.?
Anita, I finally was able to see the video. I actually had to go on YouTube to view it. For some reason the link would not work when I received your message in my email. Nice haul. Be careful with the one button shopping lol. How can I attach a picture of some of the material that I purchased from Jomar so that you can view it?
Video still not working.???
? Hi Anita. I enjoyed the video. It was my first fabric overhaul also. You’re an amazing teacher. If you hadn’t mentioned it was your first time I would not have known. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Peggy! So glad you enjoyed it.
Anita I still can’t see your video. I hope you can get it up soon. I am looking forward to it.

Good morning Anita,

By the way, have you heard of Jomar Store in Philadelphia? When I visit I go there. Nice material, good sale, sometimes $1.00 to $2.00 a yard.
It’s fixed. Wow, never heard of Jomar Store.
