The Hilltop Jazz Night is an annual event and this year the theme was “All White Night.” Eric & Julie are the most amazing hostesses. Their hospitality is top notch and we love them so much! As we expected, the night was one to be remembered, and a perfect way to spend our anniversary. I’ve posted a few photos of the event below. After such an amazing week, I’m still floating on a cloud. Hehehe!!!
White Jumpsuit – What I Wore
To prepare for the event, of course I had to make something to wear. I actually didn’t have anything in my closet that would fit the occasion, so I went through my pattern stash and pulled out this sleeveless, wide-leg jumpsuit, knowing it would be amazing with the right fabric. So, while I was picking out fabric for my birthday dress last week, I ran across this white printed knit at Michael Levine’s in Los Angeles. I wasn’t able to find the exact print on their website, so I’ve linked to a similar one. It’s just thick enough for a jumpsuit, and the quilt-like texture gives it a bit of character. This piece is fully lined. I wanted to line it with a solid white knit, and I thought I had enough in my fabric stash already, so I didn’t purchase any extra. When it came time to cut the pattern, I quickly realized that I did NOT have enough to line it in white, so I used what I had on hand, a nude color, and it worked out just fine. Actually, I think I like it better than I would have the white.
This Tom & Linda Platt Vogue pattern is rated “easy” by the company, however, I would not recommend it for a new beginner. With experience, it really is an easy pattern. It only consists of four pieces, however, installing a full lining with a zipper should be attempted only after you’ve gained some experience. When learning to apply linings to garments, I recommend starting with simple projects, like skirts, then progress to partially lined garments, such as dress bodices. Get lots of practice with those garments first, then you should be ready to tackle fully lined suits, jumpsuits, jackets & coats, etc.

Heeeeyyyyy Ursula! Thank you so much. I have so much fun putting the whole outfit together.
Hey Anita! You look awesome! I planned on making this a few weeks ago. I think I am going to make this for my anniversary. Did you have to adjust the inseam at all? The fit is amazing and you look just stunning!
Hi Cleopatra! Thank you so much! Yes, I did adjust the crotch. However, I will make this jumpsuit again and try it without the adjustment because it’s a little too tight. It looks great but a bit uncomfortable when sitting. I still like it, but just want to try it again.
You’re a beautiful soul, Anita. Inside & out.
I am so happy everything turned out WONDERFUL for your birthday and anniversary! God bless you and hubby!
