Hello everyone! OooooWeeee! The weather in my town is in full agreement that it’s summertime! Triple digits for the last couple of days and I keep having to remind myself not to complain. Being grateful in all circumstances requires effort. When conditions aren’t what we consider to be favorable, it is often our first inclination to speak in the negative. So today I decided that every time I think about how hot it is, I will speak out one affirmation of blessing (without repeating the same blessing in a 24 hour period). We are surrounded by SO MANY blessings, most taken for granted. It’s quite liberating when we focus on God’s blessings with gratitude. It shifts our thinking, which in turn shifts how we feel, regardless of the circumstances we’re facing. I wish you a day of gratitude!
Summertime Jumper
I’m loving all the cute jumpsuits that the pattern companies are releasing. I fell in love with this one because the design is different from the others. Also, I thought it would look great with either high heels, or flat sandals. It was a very easy construction, can be sewn up in one day, and is beginner friendly. It’s super comfy and I would wear it to a lunch date or dinner with my husband, to the summertime picnic with a pair of sandals, or just lounging around the house when I want to look cute just because. Hahaha! Can you imagine it? Your husband comes home from work to find you in this cute jumper with the most beautiful smile. You have dinner on the table, his favorite wine chilling in an ice bucket as the center piece, a fresh strawberry pie in the refrigerator, and soft jazz music playing in the background. Oooh, honey, yes! This sounds like a summertime treat after a long day of work.

Hi Diana! Oooh, you have a wonderful gift if you are making your own patterns. One of my goals is to learn how to draft my own patterns. I’m actually in the process of learning that craft. Once I learn and start drafting my own patterns I will share what I know. Thanks so much for following all the way from Nigeria, and thanks so much for your feedback. I appreciate you!
Hi Anita,
I’m really glad I found your sewing site. I’ve been looking to sew for some time…..I finally got a sewing machine, and I’m ready to start! I hope with following you, I can learn to make that gorgeous jumpsuit too! I’ve already looked at your first tutorial…and I think I can do it! by the way love the blouse you have on in your first you tube tutorial too. Will you show how to make it too!
Hi Rene! Welcome to the sewing course! I’m glad to have you join me. You can do it! Just remember to take your time and be patient. This jumpsuit is a very easy pattern. After you learn the basics it should really be a breeze.
I’m not sure which top you’re referring to, but I will be doing all kinds of tutorials, so stay tuned.
Thanks so much for your feedback.
That is so cute. I sometimes cannot visualize garments with the fabrics I have. Just recently stumbled on your blog and recommended to friends of mine.
Yeah, sometimes I know right away what type of fabric I want to use. Then other times I spend more time than I should on choosing a fabric. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hey sis I love this look! I plan on making a version of this for my daughter this summer and a few for my sisters as well. As usual you did a FABULOUS job and you look amazing! Keep doing what you doing I’m truly enjoying your journey!

Hey Shari! Thank you so much! You’ll love making these for your family members. They’re super easy to sew and oh so comfy.
Lovely!!! I love the print and I love the look. Now that I have seen your version of this pattern, Me thinks me will add it to my pattern stash! This is the great thing about the sewing community, we get to witness things people make with patterns that we have probably overlooked a million times. Thanks Anita!
Hey Michelle! You’re gonna love it and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Exactly! I love the inspiration that comes from our community, the support that is shown, and the AMAZING talent that makes me just scream with delight! You’re welcome, and thanks for your comment.
I love it Anita!! as always you slayed the jumpsuit and the style. I have added this one to my project list. Yes, giving thanks to God for whatever state that we are in, is one of the praises that pleases him the most. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Thanks Sharon! Yes, praising Him with you!
What a cute jumpsuit. I am definitely making this one. How about ditching the t-shirt and sweat pants worn around the house and opt for being cute and casual with this jumpsuit. Definitely a winner!
Yes, ma’am! Yes, MA’AM! Let’s look cute!
You betta werrrkkkk mama!! Great job!!!! I love this!!!!
LOL! Thanks so much Stephanie!
This jumpsuit is so cute!! My first words were, “that’s a jumpsuit?!” I love the fabric, too. I would definitely make this. I like easy/breezy wear for the summer.
I agree with your outlook. Last night in my women’s leadership team meeting I led the meeting because the facilitator was out. I asked someone to pray and she began by thanking God for the weather we were having! I had to do a double-take to be in agreement with what she was saying, but it hit me quickly that, as she said, it was God’s providence and we were to be thankful even for hot weather, or very cold weather, when we have it. Whatever the weather, we are blessed! And praise God for good air conditioning!!
Thank you, Sheila, and AMEN! We are blessed!
Gorgeous jumpsuit! Your are amazing Anita and I love your outlook on life. I want to make this now too bad the McCalls sale is over ?
Thanks Toy! Well at least you have it on your list for the next sale.
I loooove this!! Did you modify? You look fab as usual. My daughter and I were just talking about giving thanks, in all things. Thank you for this post.
Hey Florence! No, I didn’t make any modifications to the pattern. I cut an extra small for all except the hem. I cut a medium for the hem because the small would have been too short for me.
Love the jumpsuit! This Texas heat will make you thank God for air condition if nothing else ???.Love your site and tutorials!
Thanks Angela! Yes, thanking God for air conditioning too.
Hi Anita!
I love the jumpsuit and your article – Awespiring and Inspiring! Thank you for reminding me to stay focused on the bigger picture. Have a Wonderful Day!
You’re welcome Jackie, and thank you for responding!
