MANSFIELD DRESS |CASHMERETTE PATTERNS
When Jenny, from CASHMERETTE PATTERNS reached out to ask if I would be interested in sewing their new dress, the Mansfield, and creating a sew along, I couldn’t wait to see the pattern. When she sent over the images for the pattern, it was a yes for me. The neckline on the underdress is so stunning. I imagined a princess look, fit for high tea wearing the the overdress with the underdress. I’m excited to share with you about the pattern. Today’s post is a little different and is a collaboration with Cashmerette Patterns.
Pattern Information
The Mansfield Pattern is a new release that is available through CASHMERETTE CLUB.

The Mansfield dress comes with an underdress, overdress, and overskirt. The underdress has a lined sweetheart front neckline and squared back neckline with thin straps. It has bust darts on the front, and waist darts on the front and back bodice. The skirt of the dress has front and back princess seams. The dress has a side invisible zipper and falls just above the knee. The overdress has a fitted bodice with bust and waist darts, long or short sleeves, center back slit at neckline, and full gathered skirt. The overskirt is fully gathered with waistband and button closure.
The Mansfield is fully interchangeable with the Upton Dress & Skirt Pattern and you will get this pattern for free when you join the All Access Level of membership with Cashmerette Club.
Fabric Information
Cashmerette recommends the following for fabric options.
Underdress: light-to-mid-weight woven fabrics such as satin, cotton, linen, etc. Jacquard, brocade, or other raised textured fabrics are okay if making the dress to be worn without the overdress.
Underdress Lining: Light weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, rayon bombers, silk crepe de chine, or self line with main fabric.
Overdress/Overskirt: Sheer fabrics such as organza or tulle. You can use sheers with embroidery, beads, or sequins. You will need light to midweight fusible interfacing for the overskirt.
Notions Information
Cashmerette suggests the following notions.
A 24″ invisible zipper and 1/4″ clear elastic for underdress. The overdress needs a hook & bar set, 2 hook & eye sets, fold over elastic or bias tape (see pattern for lengths). The overskirt uses one hook & bar set and one 1/2″ flat button.
Styling Options
I’m wearing the underdress alone and I’ve styled it with my favorite fascinator, long black gloves, Black/White Polka Dot pumps with white bows, velvet clutch purse, and rhinestone jewelry. I don’t usually wear dresses above the knee, but I had planned on wearing this with the overdress.
Sew Along Available
I’ve created a Sew Along for the Mansfield Underdress & Overdress. Head over to my YouTube channel to get al the details about fabric and supplies I used to make the dresses. And of course I’m walking you through the entire process, step by step.

Love your dress
Anita, you are definitely ready for a gala. If one is available, please include a picture of you in the overdress. As expected, your sew-along video offers details, options, and explanations. This simplifies the process. Thanks again and enjoy the festivities!
Beautiful dress! Just what is needed for the holidays and upcoming weddings!
Question about the bodice –is it at the natural waist, or slightly above waist, or empire?
Hi Anita,
You look absolutely stunning in the Mansfield dress – just wow! I particularly love the sweetheart neckline – so elegant and classy. I am looking forward to watching the sewalong on YouTube. I really love your sewalongs; they are so helpful to a beginner like me because you explain and show every step so fully. I just want to let you know that all the hard work you put in is very much appreciated!
Kindest regards,
Jill

Absolutely beautiful
Thank you.
Hello and good morning ~ I think the dress looks great on you. I’m looking forward to watching the sewalong, as I know you are so detailed.
This is not my style, but again, it looks great on you ☺️
Thanks you Lynette.
Anita, That dress is just beautiful on you! And that is without the overdress. Did you make the overdress and if so could you post it? Would love to see it! I received emails from Cashmerette. The designs are lovely. Have not joined but may do so for the new year.
Thank you Christine. Yes, I did make the overdress and recorded it for the sew along. Unfortunately, my overdress came out too small (my fault). That’s why I didn’t wear it in the photos. It was way too small.
Absolutely stunning Anita!!
Thank you so much, Yolanda.
