Simplicity 1372 – Knit Top w/Bow

Hello everyone!

I just have to say that I’m one blessed woman.  I’m surrounded by helpful people–the ones who want to help with my blog just because.  There’s no motive behind their generosity, they’re not looking to be reciprocated for their actions.  They just genuinely want to help.  I’m humbled and incredibly grateful that they would even take the time to help me do this thing RIGHT.  I refer to them as my GSB (God-Sent Blessings).  They were sent by God, for whatever reason, to help me share my passion and talent with you.  I really have no idea how God will use this blog to bless others, but I do know that there is at least one woman out there who will hear or see something here that will spark a special interest that will motivate her into action, and she too will reach out and bring other women with her as she journeys into the place God has designed especially for her.  I was inspired, and my desire is to inspire others.

Simplicity 1372 – Knit Top w/Bow

This top drew my attention because of the bow.  I’m a girly girl, and bows scream GIRLY.  When I start a new project, I like to plan the entire look.  Sometimes I stick with the full look, but sometimes it takes a different direction after I complete the piece.  I liked the stripes in the model’s top on the pattern envelope and I just happened to have a black and white striped knit in my stash.  Immediately, I knew I wanted to pair the stripes with a red skirt.  I had this red knit in my stash also, so I went to work.  Accessories, accessories, accessories!  They can make or break the outfit!  Honestly, the black & white cloche is what pulled this entire look together.  It elevated the look–took it to that classy elegance that I seek to live in.  Both pieces were very easy to construct, even for a beginner.
