DIY – “CASUAL WOMAN” Collection – Piece 9

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend and Resurrection Sunday. Unfortunately, mine didn’t turn out the way I had planned. My husband ended up in the ER for seizures on Sunday just before dinner. He was discharged early the next morning and ended up back there that evening, then discharged again. After seeing a Neurologist on Tuesday, I learned that the seizures are a side effect of the tumor. A few medications were changed and he’s resting well at home. This round of seizures have affected him differently than in the past. He’s not talking much and stares to the right most of the time.

Through it all I continue to stand in my faith, knowing that God is in control. My husband doesn’t look well, but I refuse to lose hope. As long as he’s breathing I will continue to believe God for his healing. God always has the final word. Therefore, I stand by my man with a steadfast faith and carry on.

DIY – “CASUAL WOMAN” Collection – Piece 9

I had originally planned on showing two pieces today, but since my husband came home I just haven’t had much time to sew. Also, I wanted to add three additional items to the Collection after this piece. However, due to limited time, I’ll be adding only one more piece next week and then closing the Collection. I plan to sew other Collections in the future. For now, I’ll continue sewing only as time allows.

I added this basic t-shirt to the Collection because every casual wardrobe needs one. I used New Look 6458, which is the same pattern I used in my Beginner’s Sewing Course HERE. I love this pattern, first because it’s easy enough to be sewn up in about an hour with no instructions. I also love it because of the longer length. I used a thin jersey from my stash that I picked up from the Michael Levine Loft over a year ago. Here are FABRIC OPTIONS. I paired it with Piece #6 from the Collection, the leggings. I don’t usually wear leggings out in public without a long shirt, but I feel comfortable with the coverage this t-shirt provides.

COLLECTION RECAP

Click on the links below if you’ve missed the other pieces in the Collection. Also, make sure you check back next week because I’ll show you how I mix and match all the pieces to create more outfits. If you want to play along, see how many outfits you come up with. It should be fun. Who knows? Someone may come up with an outfit that I miss.

  12. Dasha

    Hi Anita!

I love your course for beginners! Thank you so much for it!
This t-shirt looks perfect! Neckline is awesome!

Maybe you can sew something for your husband? And when he gets better he will have new cool outfits to wear!
I just read an article about a lady who had 20 tumors in her brain and now they are all gone. Her name is Barbara Lipska.
And there is a book by dr. Joe Dispenza “You are the placebo” where he tells how people cured themselves and proves that we can be healed no matter what! Cecil can listen to audio version and cure himself. God gives us everything we need to be happy! Always! He gives us the tools that can heal us. We just need to stay connected with him! I am sure your husband will get better!

    1. Anita Morris

Hi Dasha! Thank you so much and I’m glad you like the beginner’s course. That’s a great idea to sew him some outfits to wear. Thanks also for the reading suggestion. Blessings to you sister.

  20. Julia

You look so beautiful in your outfits, and they are perfect for my lifestyle, so thanks so much. My mom had seizures after a stroke and had gaze to the right. I would get very scared when they occurred, but now I think the seizures were the brain’s defense that allows the neuropathways to somehow release, either from the brain edema or nerve injury. So I know it’s hard for you, but he can sense your nearness and comfort so don’t despair. I just held on to my mom as long as I could and she sent the Comforter to me when she passed. That changed my life so much, I can’t tell you! God is great!

    1. Anita Morris

Hi Julia! I’m sorry to hear about your mom, but I rejoice that she is in perfection with our Heavenly Father. God gives us exactly what we need to endure these challenges in life. His presence with us on this journey has proved to be the most amazing experience of my life. Thank you for your comment.

  21. Margaret

Praying for God’s wisdom and strength for you, Cemo and your precious sons as you travel this hard road together. May His peace be with you minute by minute.

  23. Hello My Sister in Christ,

Although it is late in the evening, as I was preparing for bed, God placed you and your husband on my mind. I’m so inspired by your strength and determination to keep the faith so gracefully. Just know that you have a community of believers who care deeply for you, your husband and sons. I pray your continued strength and peace in the Lord.

    1. Anita Morris

Thank you so much Thelma! We are so blessed to have so many people like you praying for us. Thanks for thinking of us.

  24. Julie Ann

Oh, Anita. I am so sorry about Cemo. I hope he continues to improve. You rely on Jesus, as many of us do, but don’t forget all of us here. You can lean on us, and remember all of the daily prayers for you and Cemo.

  25. Peggy K

I’m reminded of Mark 2 when the four brought the one who was sick with the palsy to Jesus for healing. They couldn’t get to Jesus because of the crowd so they climb up to the roof and tore a hole in it and let down the bed where the palsy laid to get him to Jesus, and Jesus healed him because of the four faith. Because of your faith Anita, and what great faith, CEMO is healed in Jesus name.
